One type of grinder that is portable is an angle grinder, and this is probably the most common type of grinding power tools.  You will most likely use the grinders in construction or when working with metal.  These are portable power tools that have a handle, a circular abrasive disk powered by a motor, and a wheel guard for safety.  There are many different types of angle grinders available to perform your specific job.  They can be driven with a motor, or air driven.  These grinders are usually rated by how many rpms the wheel rotates, and by the diameter of the arbor.  The size of the grinding disc is usually between four inches and twelve inches.  These tools are really handy because of their portability, and you can easily change out the grinding disc for different type of jobs.

sharpening an axe with bench grinder?

is it ok to sharpen my axe witha bench electric grinder if so tell me how plz?

we do it all the time. just angle the sharp edge of the axe blade and guide it across the edge of the grinding wheel. wear protective eyewear because sparks are going to fly. practice with the grinder off to get your angle.
