How do you bend baseboard trim?

I'm installing new trim in our bathroom, and the wall has a major dip in it. I can push hard on the baseboard (toward the wall) to make it flush, but I don't think the nails will be strong enough to hold it. How can I pre-bend the trim to shape, so that it will naturally follow the curvature of the wall, and the nails won't have to work so hard to hold it to that shape?

trust me---you will want the baseboards straight.
level the wall, don't bend the baseboard. use drywall mud to level it as good as you can. then if the board still isn't flush, you can conceal it with a bead of silicone caulking.

if you must bend the baseboard- soak it in water overnight then secure it to the wall--ONLY if it is real wood. not the pressed together chip wood garbage-when that gets wet it puffs up & crumbles.
