Drilling into a chimney breast (brick) I feel I have hit something metal. What could it be?

Any ideas how I can get around it to hand a small (26") TV? I can't tell how big the obstruction might be or whether I can drill into it.

Using a masonry drill bit with a hammer action drill. Obstruction definitely metal sounding. Thanks.

It could be an RSJ ( a steel girder supporting the chimney breast.If it is a newish house,no more than 30 years old it could be the pre cast concrete flue blocks.When you get to the steel try using a drill bit for steel to see if any metal bits come out.Good luck.
