holes in drywall to run romex?

Is there any way to drill holes in studs/top plates/floor plates without having to put such a big hole in the drywall?

The only way I know to do this is first cut a big enough hole to to be able to fit my hole hawg and auger bit in order to drill the hole.

Homeowners always bitch ("why do you have to cut the hole so big?!!!").Is there anyway to avoid cutting large holes in the drywall in order to accomplish drilling the holes to run romex
