Drill bit (twist) quality: where can I find details of what HSS and DIN ratings / numbers mean?

I am hoping for a website that will give me some details about the different qualities of twist drill bits. Thanks for any suggestions..
There are numbers associated with both HSS and DIN ratings. It is these numbers that I am hoping to find out about. Like Din 320, or HSS 4241.

HSS stands for High Speed Steel and is the material from which they are made. It is Superior to HCS (High Carbon Steel) as it will retain it's edge far longer and up to a much higher temperature. HSS drills are more expensive to buy but last longer.
Twist drills are usually used for steel but work well on wood, although spade bits go up to much larger diameter with a 1/4inch (6mm) shank. Use TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tip) twist drills for brick and similar.
I have only used DIN numbers in photography so can't help there.
