Is the Milkwakee Hammer drill (0617-24 a 14.4V model) compatible with a 18v battery, and or Lithium Ion batt?

Was wondering if I can buy the 18v lithium Ion battery at a later time and use it on the normal drill.

No, the Milwaukee 14.4 V Hammer drill will only work properly with a 14.4 V battery. The 18 V would burn the brushes in the motor to the armature, causing it to short out. It would however, use a 14.4 V lithium ion battery if you can find one.
