What's the best kind of saw to use for cutting metal, i.e. pipes?

If it is really pipes I would use a pipe cutter. It tightens around the pipe and rolls a sharp wheel around for a full turn. Then you tighten it and do another turn. You repeat until the pipe is cut through with a beautiful straight cut. It usually has a deburrer attached to clean the inside of the cut.

Anything else I would use a 24 tooth per inch hacksaw blade and replace it as soon as it gets dull. If you have a lot to do use a reciprocating saw with that 24 tooth cutter in it.
