Cut the hole to big for a recessed light?

I cut a hole little to big for a few recessed lights, need an idea on how to make this light work. The hole is a 1/4'' to big around the light.

they are already 7 lights i installed in the room

we have installed the lights and then used dry wall plaster to fill in the gaps. center the light and attach firmly up above and fill in with plaster until it meets the rim cover of the light.
