Choosing a Cordless Circular Saw

has anyone ever saw a case of gangrene in the small intestine? if so pls tell me about it.?

My dad just had surgery to remove all but 80cm of small intestine because it had gangrene, it was very sudden and i'm wondering if anyone has heard of this before. if so what can we expect to happen now?

I am sorry your dad had to suffer this problem. It is very painful and he was probably very sick. I am glad that he survived the ordeal.

Its call ischemic bowel and in your dad's case infarcted bowel. This not so uncommon problem arises when there is insufficient blood flow to the bowel. Like a heart attack, because there is a lack of blood to that portion of the bowel, the bowel dies off. If not taken to surgery immediately the gut content will leak out of the dead gut and cause a serious infection.

There alot of causes of ischemic bowel including adhesions (previous abdominal surgeries create scar issues that can stangulate the bowel), volvulus (the bowel twist onto itself thereby cutting off blood supply), and hernias are few causes that i can recall.

The most immediate thing to realize is that he probably is still on antibiotics. Because inside of the gut is pretty dirty, he may have an infection. If he stablizes and gets better, he should do just fine.
