mac allister 10 inch sliding compund mitre saw COD251LSM?

hi, i would like to know what these are like as i have just purchased on in B&Q, are these a good make or a bad make? any ideas would be appreciated. thanks.

No offense but this sounds like a question you should have asked before you made the purchase. It sounds like you are looking for reassurance.

A miter saw is a good tool and can save you time and enhance the look of a project. I prefer the sliding type of saw as opposed to the chop type. If you slide your cuts will tend to be smoother than if you just chop your cuts.

I own 2 saws from 2 different manufactures and have used several other brands over the years. I have found that the quality of most saws when new is about the same. It is over time that the cheaper models tend to get out of true from use. If you will not be using this saw on a daily basis and moving it around a lot, I am sure it will give you years and years of good quality performance. Since I am not familiar with your particular brand I can not attest to it's long term performance on a job site.
