Can you drill a hole in iron or steel?

can i drill a hole in iron or steel with a normal metal drill bit?
i have 68 different drill bit but they're al pure metal and i have nothing to heat the metal with other than a brick BBQ grill but no cover, the heat escapes so its not a black smith oven.

Yes you can. You may need to drill in steps, depending on the size of the hole you want. Start with a sharp bit about 1/8", then increase by 1/8" to 3/16" per step.
